Mango Languages

Recently during a trip to the library we found out about this great program the library offers to the public. My youngest son was checking out a learning program for French when the libraian told us we could go online and utilize Mango Language. Mango is a program which allows individuals to learn a variety of different languages. It allows you to work at your own pace and you can start up again where you left off. Currently my 14 year old is learning Spanish and loves the ease of the program. He is excited to be able to learn another language at his own pace.

Mango also offer the option of utilizing a microphone or camera for voice comparison. I encourage you to check with your local library online to see if they offer this great service. A library card for the branch being utilized is required, however individuals can purchase the program for themselves.

If you are looking for a language program this could be the one for your family, try it out before you buy. Don't forget to check with your local library first.

The Benefits of the Library

I was raised a reader and when my oldest was young we would go to the library. I remember on one trip she started randomly pulling books from the shelf just like she always did. I would look at the books she selected and for the most part they were geared towards her. I will never forget the day she randomly chose "The Napping House" by Audrey Wood. I glanced through the book and knew this would be a great book to read together. We enjoyed the book so much we bought our own copy, two children later we were still enjoying this random book pulled from the library shelf years ago. When she was in high school she took a class on child development and came home announcing she needed to bring a book that she would read to a child. The first thing she said was "Mom do we still have "The Napping House?" Yes, we did however it had sat in a box from a move and became unusable. It doesn't matter we still love this story with it's consistancy and witt. Go to the library and let your child/children pick out some books randomly you just find your "Napping House."
